HIRING QUESTIONNAIRE

Thank you for applying to work at Surf Junction! We really appreciate your interest and look forward to learning a bit about you!

Before an interview can be scheduled, we have some preliminary questions to get out of the way to make sure you’ll be a good fit.

  1. What position(s) are you interested in working?

  1. Are you looking for full-time or part-time work? If part-time, please specify how many days a week you’d like to work:

  1. When will you be available to start work?

  1. When will you be available to work until? Will you go back to school? If so, when?

    1. Will you need some form of staff accommodation? Please circle what you’re interested in (or highlight or type)
      1. A room in our staff accommodation house. This is where most of our staff hang out. 3 rooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen and a big open living room. Two rooms are shared and have bunk beds.
      2. The Cat cabin (small individual cabin, it’s pretty cool but SMALL)
      3. A bed in the Meat Locker: It has one bedroom with a bunk bed (full bed on the bottom, twin xl on top), small bathroom and a kitchenette. This is great for either a couple or two friends wanting to room together. It’s called the Meat Locker because the trailer that used to be there was cold….it’s a nickname that just stuck, we swear it’s not creepy! We fully reno’d it two years ago. Ironically, probably the nicest accom….
      4. A spot in our off-grid staff camping area: This is only for people that have small campervans, truck and campers, trailers, or motorhomes. You CANNOT tent camp. This area is pretty sweet, it’s a big open space that’s separate from campers. There’s an outdoor propane shower as well as a pit toilet.
  • I don’t need staff accommodation.

***Please note that we do charge rent for staff accomm- it is taken off of paychecks. We do our very best to keep it as affordable as possible.

  1. Will you have a partner living with you in staff accommodation? If so, did they apply as well and what’s their name? And do you have any pets that will be with you in staff accomm?
  1. Do you have a driver’s license?
  2. Do you have a vehicle or plan on getting one?
  3.  Are you applying to work with any of your friends or do you have any friends that have worked at SJC? If so, please drop some names:

  1. Do you plan on working anywhere else? If so, where?

  1. Do you plan on taking any trips during the summer?

  1.  If you could tell me one thing about you, what would it be? (The weirder/funnier the better…)

That’s it for now!

Let me know if you have any other questions.
